Ceramic & Glass Detail

This bowl was treated during a contract at the Victoria & Albert Museum to prepare ceramics for their new Jameel Gallery of Islamic Art from the Middle East. It dates from the late 12th century and was made in Iran, probably Kashan. The bowl had been broken and reassembled in the past, but the adhesive, retouching and fills were deteriorating. The final image shows the bowl installed in the new gallery (bottom row, centre).
